Requirements for Foster Parents

Must live in the Rochester area.

Applicants must be at least 23yrs of age.

All resident pets must be spayed/neutered unless there is a valid medical exemption.

A maximum of three resident dogs is permitted (if you are interested in fostering dogs)
Becoming a Foster Parent is Easy

1 Non-Family Reference

Landlord contact information if you rent.

Parent contact information if you live with your parents.

Vet records for all resident pets, including proof of updated rabies vaccination, indicating their spay/neuter status or a note from your vet explaining any medical reasons preventing spaying/neutering.

Photos of key areas of your home including the designated foster room, living room, backyard, etc.

Our dedicated Foster Team will review your vet records pertaining to any resident pets and will also contact your provided references.

Kindly review the Foster Success Guide sent to your email and answer the questions included at the end of the guide.

Lastly, participate in a quick phone interview with one of our Foster Coordinators.
