Below you'll find everything you need to know about our adoption process. From submitting an application to welcoming your new pet home, we'll guide you every step of the way! Let's get started!
Eligibility:
Must live in NYS
Must be at least 23yrs old
All resident pets must be spayed/neutered (or have a medical reason why they cannot be) and up to date on rabies vaccine
Must not have more than 3 resident dogs (if applying to adopt a dog)


Before You Apply:
What to Have Ready
All references, including landlords and parents, will be automatically contacted via email and text as soon as you submit your application. Having this information ready in advance helps speed up the process so we can match you with your new pet as quickly as possible!
Contact details for two people who can vouch for you as a pet owner.
Two Non-Family References
If you rent, we'll need to confirm pet policies.

If you live with your parents, we'll reach out to ensure everyone is on board.
Parent Contact Information
Proof that all resident pets are spayed/neutered and up to date on their rabies vaccine.

Understanding Adoption Costs:
What's Included?
Adoption fees may fluctuate depending on the specific animal, circumstances, or veterinary care provided. Your designated adoption coordinator will establish the fee in consultation with you prior to finalizing the adoption.

All age appropriate vaccinations at the time of adoption (DHPP or FVRCP)
Rabies Vaccination
Microchip
Deworming
Heartworm Test (for dogs)
Combo test (for cats)
Flea & Tick Prevention
HW Prevention (for dogs)
General Adoption Fees:
Puppies (up to 6 months old) - $450
Adult Dogs (7 months - 7yrs) - $400
Seniors (7yrs+) - $140
Kittens (up to 12 months old) - $185
Adult Cats (1 - 7yrs) - $150
Senior Cats (8yrs+) - $100
